Music is her soul and if you know Nubia, you would most likely know her as a musician as well.

“I love music.  It is my life.  If I am sad, I listen to music.   I think that if people knew what music can do for the soul, we would all cope better with the stresses of life.”

She is one of the most caring individuals you can meet and delights in helping others over come their challenges.  Every Friday afternoon, you can find her teaching dancing classes at the Catholic Centre of Immigrants. “Let us dance the sadness away instead of crying about it.”

The Executive Director from Catholic Centre for Immigrants describes her as: “She is a hidden gem in our midst. Thank you for shining a bright light on her many gifts.”

Hani Rached:  Business Owner, Paradise Auto Repair 2004 Inc. (Hani is far left on the picture with his team)

“I have been in business for many years. I have never had to advertise. On a weekly basis, I get a new customer and I have been able to maintain my old customers.”

Hani runs a full service garage on 825 Campbell Avenue Ottawa with a multi-cultural staff. In the same way that he never advertises, he has also never had to recruit mechanics formally. “Recruitment by word of mouth is better. All of the people whom I have hired have been referred to me by friends and customers.” His five staff are from Lebanan, Iran, the Philippines and Canada. He also has a female mechanic on staff which makes him feel happy to embrace gender equality. He takes great care to treat his staff and his customers respectfully so that the work environment is healthy and positive.

Look out for who will be  Earth Angels tomorrow night!
