The documentary – watch Dawta Maolee, a single mom who feeds 200- 300 homeless people on the streets of Brooklyn…a documentary produced on a soul budget…

Carla and Magdalene - on the streets

Do we need money or courage to do the things that call to our souls? I know for sure we need both but I knew even better that when we are aligned with our soul purpose, the universe conspires to make everything happen perfectly well.

Those of you who have been following this story, knows about the way the universe aligned all things perfectly well to get me to New York to capture Carla’s story in feeding the homeless. Here is the link to the video.

Enjoy the video and do share with others – spread the good works!

During the trip, one of my concerns was that we may not have been able to get the documentary done because Nyamaloa was not sure that she would have been able to manage both the photography and videography at the same time. But it was in my heart – as I truly believed that watching a video would touch others more.

At 9:30a.m on the Sunday of the feeding, I spoke with Carla and she told me that he got a videographer. I was excited but apprehensive because I knew that I would not have the time to work with the person and to review things as much since it would be done all quickly between 11:30 – 1:00p.m. and I had to leave for Ottawa right afterwards. Erneil Johnny came – very quiet and unassuming and quite talented. We hardly had anytime for much direction or conversation but he caught on quickly with what we were trying to do.

This is truly another opportunity for us to see that we can all accomplish our soul mission if we become in alignment with it. This project is a great example of our generosity towards each other by coming together to create something which none of us could have created alone. Isn’t it amazing what the human spirit can accomplish?

I feel very proud of our team for having the courage to step up to the assignment and create a product which tells a wonderful story. I hope it will touch our hearts to being more compassionate, more giving, more aware of homelessness and more importantly that we can all play a part in our communities to make sure that those less fortunate are able to get a hot meal.

Thank you Carla for the opportunity to interview you and work with you. Follow her at:
